Beckman Coulter Life Sciences and IDT Enter Into Application Development Agreement For The Biomek NGenius System

INDIANAPOLIS — (November 22, 2021) — Chemistry companies continue seeking partnerships with Beckman Coulter Life Sciences ahead of the 2022 launch of the Biomek NGeniuS Next Generation Library Preparation System. Today, Beckman Coulter Life Sciences announced a second application development agreement for the instrument.

This latest partnership enables global genomics solutions provider Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), a supplier of custom nucleic acids and other genomics reagents, to develop new applications on the Biomek NGeniuS System*.

The Biomek NGeniuS System is a purpose-built liquid handler for next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation. It provides an easy-to-use automation solution that reduces manual transfers and hands-on time for the traditionally labor-intensive process of NGS library construction.

“This partnership is the second in a long line of agreements with reagent manufacturers that will allow Beckman Coulter Life Sciences to accelerate the development of applications on our newest NGS library prep instrument, the Biomek NGeniuS liquid handler,” said Jason Lanie, Vice President and General Manager of Beckman Coulter’s Biotechnology Business Unit. “This shows our continued commitment to application development and the speed at which we can provide new NGS applications to our customers. It also combines the expertise of the instrument and reagent manufacturers to produce a higher quality automated NGS library prep solution.”

Mirna Jarosz, General Manager of NGS at Integrated DNA Technologies, added: “Automating our NGS solutions on Beckman Coulter Life Sciences’ new Biomek NGeniuS System is an important step in making high-performance NGS solutions more accessible to a broader array of labs. IDT remains steadfast in its mission to advance the field of genomics and this partnership exemplifies how two companies are uniting to move science forward.”

As part of this agreement, IDT will develop applications specifically designed for the Biomek NGeniuS liquid handler, which will be available to Biomek NGeniuS System users via a first-of-its-kind electronic application library. The Biomek NGeniuS System is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2022
